FAQ
Hail damage questions
What size hail damages a roof?
Hail around one inch across (quarter-sized) and larger commonly damages asphalt shingles. Smaller hail driven by strong wind can also loosen granules and shorten a roof's life, especially on slopes facing the storm.
Can I tell if my roof has hail damage from the ground?
Sometimes you can see clues, like dented gutters, vents and AC units or granules at the bottom of downspouts. Damage to the shingles themselves usually takes a close inspection, which is why we use a drone and a hands-on check.
How soon should I get an inspection after a hailstorm?
As soon as it's practical. Damage is easiest to document while it's fresh, and many homeowner policies have deadlines for reporting storm damage, so check yours.
Does hail damage always mean I need a new roof?
No. It depends on how widespread the damage is and the roof's age and condition. Sometimes a repair is right, and sometimes there's no meaningful damage at all. We'll show you the photos and tell you straight.
Will you file my insurance claim for me?
No. In Texas, you file the claim and make the decisions with your insurance company. We document the damage with photos and, if you'd like, meet your adjuster on the roof so nothing is missed.
