Brick home with a newly installed shingle roof

Windows

Storm-damaged windows, replaced right.

Big hail cracks glass, dents frames and shreds screens. We document window damage during every inspection and replace what's broken so your home is sealed and secure again.

What we look for

Window damage after a storm isn't always obvious. We check for:

  • Cracked or broken glass, including small chips that can spread
  • Dented or split frames and cladding
  • Torn or dented screens
  • Failed seals: fogging between the panes of double-pane windows
  • Damaged caulk and trim that let water behind the siding

Replacement done properly

A window is only as good as its installation. We flash and seal every replacement window into the wall so it stays watertight, and replace damaged trim at the same time.

Screens

Torn and dented screens are one of the most common kinds of hail damage and one of the easiest to overlook. We replace them along with any other exterior repairs.

FAQ

Common questions

Should I cover a broken window after a storm?

Yes. Carefully cover it with plastic or plywood to keep water and pests out, and keep receipts. Then call us for an inspection of the whole exterior.

Does fogging between panes mean the window is broken?

It means the seal between the panes has failed. The window still works, but it insulates less well, and the fogging won't go away on its own.

Do you replace just the screens?

Yes. Screens can be replaced on their own or as part of a larger exterior repair.
